Hello Softball Players
I'm trying new technology (for an old guy) so bear with me. I hope it works, please don't swamp me with messages. Tell the information to the ones who cannot get them by phone and tell me and I will take them off the list. I will be keeping track of who shows up and who does not, and I might listen to your excuses. See y'all Saturday.

This is it--THE END------ of this season

Show off those battle scars
Rest up those guns
We certainly gave up too many runs
But don't fret yet
'Cause I like what I hear
Come next season
We'll give them something to FEAR!!!!!

GO DRAGONS

Well Ladies,
Spring break has sprung over and left us lethargic as we finish up the last few games. Players are dropping like fly balls but I do appreciate the faithful few willing to come out and get their lumps. That pitcher from Ely left us with few, although Sprinkles thumped a couple of them also. It's been a tough season but the end score does not measure the improvement or the heart. It seems like the last few games we were forced to put players at positions they never played before, and those are great but tough learning experiences. Nothing like a view from a different perspective and not a better feeling than "I CAN do this". Let me encourage all of you to continue playing this summer. Find a league in your area and sign up. This is a game, do your best and have fun!

Its been a tough run of games and we are looking for some bright spots.
The hits are hard to come by (unless you are downloading them) but Mermaid did catch a fly ball and Shinguards did throw a runner out leading off first base and these pictures tell a story (don't ask)

Hopefully the next run of games will have the results we have been working hard for.

KEEP IT UP

Hey Ladies.
Its been a tough two weeks. We did get our win under our belts but have been taking our lumps (literally) since then. You girls have been tough and Tim and I are impressed, you are getting that softball "tatoo". Ice and time will heal it. We are not quite halfway there yet and after next week we have more home games than away. FCAT's next week then three games, you can take your testing frustrations out by taking a bat to that yellow moving object.

Second rain-out game update: The rained out game against Ft Lauderdale High will be made up as a double header at their park. First game at 4:00 and next game at 6:30 on Friday March 14.
Sorry!!!!!!!

HOME GAME DEBUT
The score was UGLY but ya'll look Maaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrvellllllllllllloussssssssss! Check it out.
Make up game: Monday Feb. 25 away at Boyd Anderson, 4:00. This means THREE games next week.

Sunday, February 17, 2008

Well I see that the Presidents have initiated another day off from school. Well I guess that they really don't get any days off when they are elected into office. Is this only for Presidents of the United States or is it for presidents of other things such as corporations or PTA's? (I don' get the day off but I guess I could take it)
OBVIOUSLY no practice on Monday so be ready to play on Tuesday, 4:00, our field.
GO LADY DRAGONS

Thursday, February 14, 2008

What a washout this week was, never liked playing softball in scuba gear.
Next up Northeast High, Tuesday at home. Hooray! Then on Friday a 6:30 away game at Nova.

Saturday, February 9, 2008

Boyd Anderson High school is at: 3050 NW 41 Street in Lauderdale Lakes
Its between Oakland Park Blvd and Commercial Blvd on NW 31st Ave

Game Two was a little wet behind the ears along with everything else.
Improvement is coming, albeit slowly. Sprinkles is throwing the ball over the plate keeping the walks to a minimum, and she got our first base hit. We improved 100% in the run department (we got two) and about 30% on defense allowing fourteen runs instead of twenty. Keep at it.
Games next week on Tuesday (away) at Boyd Anderson And Wednesday at home (finally) against Lauderdale High

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Game one under our belts and we didn't get skunked, I'm encouraged.

I apologize to the players and parents for the field mix-up, rookie coach mistake!

Next challenge is at MiramarHigh, 4:00 on Friday.
The school looks like it is located on/near Douglas Road south of the Miramar Parkway (Pines Blvd)

HEADS-UP AND
GAME ON

Monday, February 4, 2008

HEY LADIES ITS GAME TIME---LETS KICK UP SOME DIRT
Games this week on Tuesday at Coral Springs Charter School (6:30 ) and Friday at Miramar High (4:00)
Coral Springs is at Betty Spradlin Field which is at Wiles Road and University Drive (there-abouts to the east)
Miramar High is 3601 SW 89 Ave, Miramar 33025 754-323-1350

Other notes: saying Goodbyes to Jaime, although we barely said hello, and Grenide. Maybe see you next year "G". Saying HELLO to Brittany, Kendra and Rachel (mug shots soon).

Highlights coming soon!

Thursday, January 31, 2008

Well Ladies,
The last week of practice only is over, LET THE GAMES BEGIN. I must say that there has been a lot of improvement in the last few weeks. Most of you can throw the ball from base to base, the number of crunches is down, Sprinkles can throw the ball over the plate and Mermaid has two black eyes. The rate of improvement will be directly proportional to the number of bruises on your bodies.
I MUST have your paperwork: Steroid testing releases and copies of insurance card.

We jump into battle on Tuesday against Coral Springs Charter School, and a battle it will be. Not so much against them yet, as we will battle against ourselves for hits, put-outs, runs, catches and the overall frustration until we can do them successfully. Every game will be a stepping stone of progress. SUCCESS is a measure of the heart. We are on the right road.
